About
our foundation

The Ryan Joseph Caulfield Memorial Scholarship Foundation was established to honor the life, spirit, and values of Ryan Joseph Caulfield—a beloved partner, son, brother, friend, and devoted caregiver to animals.

Born on August 11, 1987, and taken far too soon on January 22, 2025, Ryan faced a short but fierce battle with cancer with grace, strength, and unshakable resilience. Throughout his life, Ryan inspired those around him with his warmth, compassion, and unrelenting kindness.

A proud graduate of Natick High School and the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where he earned a degree in Biology, Ryan devoted his professional life to caring for animals as a Veterinary Technician at Blue Pearl Emergency Hospital in Waltham. His love for animals—especially his loyal dog, Pancho—was only matched by the deep connections he formed with family, friends, and the community around him.

Ryan’s legacy is one of empathy, perseverance, and generosity. He believed in lifting others up, in being present for the people (and animals) he loved, and in finding joy even in life’s most difficult moments.

This foundation carries forward that legacy by supporting students who share Ryan’s passion for science, veterinary care, or simply making a difference in the lives of others. Each scholarship awarded is a tribute to the life he lived and the impact he continues to have on those who knew him.

Ryan’s memory lives on in every act of kindness, in every student supported through this fund, and in the love he left behind.
